Best Places to Train Outdoors in Clapham
Clapham has some of the best outdoor training spots in South West London. Here's where I take my clients — and why.
1. Clapham Common (South Side)
The south side near the bandstand is my favourite. It's less crowded than the north side, has flat grass for circuits, and benches for step-ups and tricep dips.
Best for: Full-body circuits, sprint intervals, bootcamp-style sessions.
2. Clapham Common (North Side by the Pond)
The area near Eagle Pond is quieter in the mornings. The paths are great for walking lunges and the gentle slopes add an extra challenge to sprints.
Best for: Morning sessions, hill sprints, steady-state cardio.
3. Wandsworth Common (Clapham Border)
Just a short walk from Clapham Junction, Wandsworth Common offers more secluded spots if you prefer privacy. The terrain is varied with hills and flat sections.
Best for: Clients who want a quieter setting, hill training.
4. Your Own Garden or Balcony
Don't overlook your own outdoor space. Many of my Clapham clients have small gardens or terraces that work perfectly for a 1-to-1 session with minimal equipment.
Best for: Convenience, privacy, postnatal training.
